CPC’s Southern Colorado regional office in Pueblo has helped us to establish a strong presence through community organizing and coalition building on issues like the hundreds of thousands of gallons of raw sewage dumped by Colorado Springs Utilities into Fountain Creek, ending up in a low-income, predominantly Latino neighborhood of Pueblo. CPC is developing a first-ever Pueblo grassroots leadership academy to train 25 new community leaders, will continue to organize residents to take on Colorado Springs over its sewage dumping and continue to organize on issues of civic engagement and voter participation.
