CPC MEMBERS ECONOMIC JUSTICE ACTION ALERT |
Give credit where credit is due; restore the state Earned Income Tax Credit!
Ask your Legislators to support working families and vote yes on HB 1362! |
|
Dear CPC Members and Friends:
After months of statewide grassroots organizing, the bill to restore the state Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), HB 1362, has just been introduced in the legislature. The EITC is a smart policy that rewards work, helps families break out of the cycle of poverty, and is proven to be an effective economic policy without any bureaucracy.
The bill will be making its way through the House Finance Committee on Wednesday (4/2/08). We need to continue to put grassroots pressure on our legislators to ensure that it passes into law!
Please call members of the House Finance Committee that haven't yet committed on HB 1362, and urge them to vote yes! Also, call legislative leadership and tell them to make the state EITC a priority!
