Dear Colorado Progressive Coalition Members and Friends:
Greetings! I'm Jessie Ulibarri, CPC's Economic Justice Campaign Director and I'd like to invite you to join us for an important community event on Wednesday, August 15, in Thornton, CO.
For thousands of Coloradans living paycheck to paycheck, unexpected expenses like a broken arm or car that won't start are the start of a bad year. A sudden illness is the beginning to a debate over which bills will go unpaid or how much food one can afford at the grocery store. Losing a paycheck can happen to any of us; how many of us can truly recover from such a loss?
To tackle this challenge and spotlight policies that can lift people out of economic anxiety, CPC is working with other community partners on the Paycheck Away Project (www.paycheckawayproject.org). The Paycheck Away Project is gathering first-hand, personal experiences from people in communities across Colorado about homelessness, hunger, and inadequate access to healthcare.
Please join me, CPC, and the Paycheck Away Project on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in Thornton. We need you to share your personal experiences and voice your opinion about issues of poverty in Adams County and the Denver Area. The details are below, I hope to see you there! |
